شاهه لطيف جي رسالي جو سُر سارنگ، ميگهه ۽ ملهار ٻوليءَ جي لحاظ کان هڪ ئي معنيٰ ۾ استعمال ٿيندا آهن. هن سُر ۾ شاهه سائين، مينهن جي مند ۾ قدرت جي رنگ ۽ رونق جو بيان ڪيو آهي. مينهن ساري عالم ۾ آسودگي ٿو آڻي ۽ انهيءَ ڪري الاهي مهر جو نشان آهي: سارنگ کي سارين، ماڙهو، مرگهه، مينهيون! ”سارنگ“ سنسڪرت ۾ معنيٰ آهي ”مور جي ٻولي.“ ان کان علاوه ”سارنگ“ هڪ راڳڻيءَ جو به نالو آهي. سمپورڻ راڳ جي قسمن مان هڪ آهي. هڪ راڳڻيءَ جا سُر حقيقي معلوم ٿيندا آهن. هيءُ راڳ ٻن پهرن جو ڳايو ويندو آهي. شاسترن ۾ هيءُ هڪ ڀلارو راڳ ڄاڻايو ويو آهي. هندي جي مشهور ڊڪشنري ”شبد ساگر“ ۾ سارنگ جي معنيٰ ميگهه، بادل ۽ کنوڻ پڻ ڄاڻايل آهي. موسيقيءَ جي ماهرن جو چوڻ آهي ته هن راڳ جي ڳائڻ سان مينهن وسندو آهي
